Our relationship with VILLA ESPERANZA
There is a special local program that helps adults with disabilities learn to be more independent by helping others in need – Villa Esperanza Employment Services. By collaborating with community employers, Villa Esperanza Employment Services is able to specialize in creating custom staffing solutions for adults with developmental disabilities to fulfill client staffing needs in a variety of jobs. By matching jobs to specific client interests and abilities, and while providing ongoing job coaching support, they are able to create long term success in retention of each position. At Manna, we are proud to have been working with Villa Esperanza Services since 2007, to provide crews to our Conejo Valley Food Bank. These crews provide invaluable service by driving trucks to pick up donated food from local grocery stores, stock the pantry shelves and to help receive and organize donations. People with disabilities join a crew headed by a job coach to help them learn and perform their duties while they learn how to be model employees. Once hired, Villa Esperanza’s clients continue to receive job support, in order to help them continue to succeed. For more information about how our partnership with Villa Esperanza helps their clients learn valuable working skills, while benefiting Manna, contact Charles Bloomquist.
