It's Time to Start

The annual Boy Scout's "Scouting for Food" event has returned!

On Saturday, February 27th, local Boy Scout troops throughout the Conejo Valley will get involved in one of the biggest food drives we have each year! Every February, these troops head out into local neighborhoods to pass out informational flyers and bags to households. Then, on the 27th they'll be returning to those homes to pick up bags that have been stocked with non-perishable food items. They collect the bags so Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank can stock the food pantry, which is leverage to feed thousands of hungry people throughout the Conejo Valley! If the Boy Scouts don't knock on your door, you can still get involved in this major impact-making event by stocking your own bag and bringing it to The OAKS Mall on February 27th between 9am and 2pm. During "Scouting for Food," we ask for any non-perishable food that can be used to make a meal and toiletry items. If you have any canned meat, hamburger helper, macaroni and cheese, canned soup, jelly, peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruit, boxed rice, boxed pasta, toilet paper, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, or other items you think could help local people in need, please consider donating! For more information about "Scouting for Food" and other opportunities to lend a helping hand to people in need in Thousand Oaks and throughout the Conejo Valley, contact Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank today.
