Product Rescue programs at local stores in the conejo
One of the latest movements in the food assistance world is product rescue. Albertson's started a program called Fresh Rescue in 2005. Through this program Albertson's takes food that is at or past its expiration date, yet still fresh and edible, and transfers it to programs, such as Manna or homeless shelters. The Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank is a partner with Albertson's, along with Costco and Vons. We also work with Sprouts, although this partnership is new to the Manna family. Manna benefits greatly from product rescue programs like Albertson's Fresh Rescue. These services provide a variety of items to our food bank including meat, deli, produce, dairy and bakery items. Product rescue programs extend the pantry’s offerings to include perishable items otherwise inaccessible to our friends and neighbors in need. The Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank of CA, provides vital resources for those in need in the Conejo Valley area. Contact us today if you would like more information regarding product rescue or assistance with finding food.
