Local Temples Kicking off the Food Drive Season
It is food drive season! Food drives help those who are less fortunate in the local community, and are especially important throughout the winter months. Several temples in the Conejo Valley will be holding their own food drives to help those in need, especially through the Jewish holiday season. New Shul of the Conejo, Templ Atz Chaim, and Temple Adat Elohim are temples which have held food drives for both Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah. All of the food donated during these food drives will help people in the community who struggle to feed their family. These food drives kick off the beginning of the food drive season which extends through the entire holiday season, and into January. Since Manna does not get any type of federal funding, these food drives are vital to helping us feed those who are hungry in the Conejo Valley. If you are looking to hold your own food drive to help Manna feed the hungry, download the Food Drive Toolkit. The toolkit has all you need to know about holding your own food drive, such as coordinator instructions, checklist for the event, contact information, a registration form, and more. All of the food that you collect at your food drive directly goes to support those who are in need in your local community. As we like to say, “what is given by the Conejo Valley, stays in the Conejo Valley”, to feed our local friends and neighbors in need. Donations to Manna are never sent to cities outside the Conejo Valley. For more information about Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, located in Thousand Oaks, or how to set up your own food drive, contact us today. Manna has been providing meals for those in need in the Conejo Valley since 1971. We feed more than 1,400 people each month, and more than 20,000 people each year. The coming holiday season is the perfect time to donate and help give back to your community.
