Youth in Action

Manna Conejo 20 November, 2019

It is so incredible to see the youth in our community getting involved and being passionate about making a difference.

This is Maya. She is a student at Oak Park High School, and the president of Cans 4 Food. With a desire to join the medical profession, Maya has a heart to help others, and when she saw the need in her community she was quick to spring into action. Cans 4 Food is a club founded at the school by a former student. Maya was elected President after the founder graduated.

Cans 4 Food collects bottles and cans to recycle, then donates those funds back to the community, and Maya has chosen to support Manna!

We would love if the community could rally around Maya and her club and show support for this amazing leader. Maybe host a neighborhood collection, put up a Cans 4 Food box in your small business, or just spread the word!

For information on the club, check out their website https://www.cans4food.com/. And to contact Maya, email her at mayamai1935@gmail.com.

We are so excited to see what Maya’s passion can accomplish, and we hope you will be a part of it.
