Back to School

It’s August which for many families signifies the start of a brand new school year. This school year the Conejo Valley School District will welcome 19,000 students back into its 27 schools. While many families are preparing for this exciting time with new backpacks, pencils, and clothing, many of our neighbors worry about providing substantial lunches and snacks for their kids during the long school days.
Children need substance to grow both mentally and physically which makes proper food consumption imperative to classroom success. Not only can poor academic performance result from a lack of nutrition but also an array of social and developmental problems. This school year help us provide for our local children by donating foods that are easy to pack and transport. These foods could include granola bars, peanut butter and jelly, trail mix, fresh fruit, veggie snack bags, juice boxes and boxes of crackers. Don’t let food insecurity get in the way of a child’s success. Donate today.
