At Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, we are grateful to be able to help our clients meet their dietary goals and stay healthy. This month in the United States the focus is on heart health. Thanks to Manna's grocery store shopping set-up, our clients often can find specific foods to meet their dietary needs.
Our stocked refrigerators and freezers mean that clients have options to choose healthy, fresh foods. The CDC recommends foods low in sodum and low in trans fats for heart health. Thanks to our grocery store partners and community donations, these options are available at Manna.
Right now, in the pantry, we have fresh salad kits, lots of local oranges, low-sodium soups, canned beans, frozen chcken, and there is always something unexpeected to add some flavor to heart healthy shopping.
