Food poverty is a huge problem, but here at Manna, we are doing all that we can now, while also implementing long-term strategies that will ensure that the people who need food the most can get it. The problems facing our neighbors can't be fixed overnight, but with help from our partners in the community, we believe that the hunger problem can be reduced greatly.
A little more about us; we strive to educate individuals, elected officials and area businesses about how hunger problems affect the whole community, and what can be done to remedy them. By doing this, we can improve people's access to affordable, nutritious foods while strengthening the community by working together to accomplish our goals.
We work with local retailers, food drives held by community members, regional food banks and neighbors who have home gardens to acquire the food that clients can receive from our pantry. We also accept monetary donations as well as gift cards from local grocers, so that we can purchase food to fill our shelves during lean months. With the help of volunteers, the food is distributed to clients when they arrive at our residential offices
