Manna Partners with Food Forward for Fresh Produce!

Manna has been the grateful recipient of backyard produce from area gardeners for many years. Now, we have a new friend in the fight against hunger in the Conejo Valley—Food Forward.

Food Forward is a non-profit whose goal is to glean area fruit trees and donate the “pick” to local hunger relief organizations so it won’t go to waste. Over that past few weeks Manna’s pantry, and its clients have benefited greatly from this new friendship. We now have the opportunity to benefit even more. Food Forward will be gleaning at the Thousand Oaks Farmer’s Market on Thursday’s at the Oaks Mall.

Anyone interested in volunteering to pick up backyard picks, which usually take place on Saturday mornings, or the Farmer’s Market are encouraged to visit our website www.mannaconejo.org under the Contact Us tab and sign up to help pick up and deliver to Manna. This could be a weekly commitment or once a month. This partnership will help us provide fresh produce to more than 15,000 food insecure households from around the Conejo Valley each year.

Once a week. Once a month. Because if not you, then who?
