Manna Takes One Step Closer to Moving
Many of you may have already read in local papers that Manna is in escrow on a property, at 95 Oakview Drive, to move us into a “new” and better facility. As with most projects of this type, it is a long, time consuming process, full of applications and permits and approvals by the City.Public Hearing Sign | Manna Conejo But, we have just taken one giant step forward in our plans. In early April, Manna submitted applications for a Zone Change and a Special Use Permit to change the use of the property from a church to a Food Pantry. As part of the process, Manna Board Members and volunteers will be walking the neighborhood on April 16th in a community outreach effort to meet the neighbors and answer any questions they may have about us “coming to the neighborhood”. Neighbors will also be invited to attend a presentation about the project on April 30th, beginning at 10:00am, at the church. This informal meeting will give us a chance to explain the project in more detail, meet the neighborhood and offer time for Q&A. Slowly, but surely, Manna is walking a deliberate path to improve our organization so that we can better serve those in the community who struggle to feed themselves and their family. Manna has been in the community for 45 years, and it is our plan to be here for another 45 years. To find out more about Manna visit us at www.mannaconejo.org.
