With Halloween just around the corner, many children are excited at their prospects of dressing up in costumes and knocking on doors asking neighbors if they want tricks or treats. The Ventura County 4-H Program makes it possible for volunteers to trick or treat for the benefit of those who do not have the means to buy sufficient groceries for their families. People can volunteer for TOTSOCE by signing up via email. After the emails are received, TOTSOCE volunteers are sent letters explaining the process. Volunteers should wear Halloween costumes or their official 4-H Club uniforms when collecting food items for TOTSOCE.
In addition to donating food via the TOTSOCE program, volunteers may also want to donate non-perishable food items to Manna. People can also volunteer for various jobs needed by Manna, including administrative tasks, client escorting services and stocking Manna pantry shelves. With numerous adults and children living in the Conejo Valley who do not have enough money to purchase healthy food products, volunteers have unique opportunities to assist those in need.
