In 2014 alone, over 300 people volunteered at Manna—offsetting labor costs and allowing savings to be reinvested into driving hunger from our communities.
Corporate volunteer teams, young people and people who care about their community rolled up their sleeves to help our clients and make the Conejo Valley a better place to live.
Their involvement has a huge impact on our organization, the community and the people we serve. We honor and thank all our volunteers.
Top volunteers include: Bank of America, La Reina High School, Soroptimist, Kiwanis, Rotary, Thousand Oaks High School Key Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Stratosphere Marketing Solution, National Charity League, Boys Team Charity, Intel, IBM, Kemp Ford, Temple Adat Elohim, Troop Real Estate, who contributed the most donated time and/or funds over the past year rolled up their sleeves to sort, pack, date check, stock and haul various goods throughout Manna’s facility. Fueled by a passion for giving, each group brought outstanding energy to their work time.
April closed out National Volunteer Month, and some of our volunteers shared meaningful reasons why they choose to support us. But, a single handwritten note perfectly captures the selfless spirit of a volunteer, by simply writing, “If not me, who?”
Even though the official recognition month is over, we continue to thank ALL our volunteers who go above and beyond to support us, every day—you are truly priceless to us!
Founded in 1971 by a group of people who felt that no person should ever go hungry in the Conejo Valley.
