Weekend Food Drive Update
It was a great weekend for MANNA Here's an update on the weekend activities as of Monday March 2nd. The MANNA entire crew was busy with three different food drives over the weekend of Saturday February 28th and Sunday March 1st.  We were concerned about the potential impact of weather, but all three drives went off without a hitch and yielded some great results. The Scouting for Food drive involved 41 troops from all over the Conejo Valley collecting over 23,000 pounds of food for Manna.  Partnering with The Oaks shopping mall as a central drop off center worked out really well for everyone and we'll try to partner with them again next year. The Thousand Oaks Little League added a food drive to their sign-up day activities and collected approximately 2200 pounds of food. The drive associated with the CROP Walk on Sunday brought in an additional 500 pounds of food and we anticipate that MANNA will likely also receive a grant from the funds raised at the event as well have in previous years. We are still getting drop offs from the Boy Scouts on Monday and there will be more straggling in from all three drives this week, but we already know was a great weekend for Manna.  We got lots of exposure for our mission in the community as well as tons of food donations, literally 12.5 tons of food total in one weekend. A huge thank you to Boy Scouts, Little Leaguers, and CROP Walkers!!!! M1M2
