Conejo Valley Sparkles cheerleading teams are bringing their infectious enthusiasm to the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Give Back Game charity benefit for MANNA.
So what is The Sparkle Effect?
This innovative student-run program empowers teens nationwide to include students with disabilities in school-based cheerleading and dance programs. Sparkle Effect teams are truly inclusive: typically-developing students and students with disabilities practice and perform as one team at school sporting events.
And as the momentum grows, it continues to profoundly change the lives and outlooks of participating students with and without disabilities, replacing insecurity with confidence and joy. In the United States today, athletes are taught to perfect their skills, to conquer, to win. Sparkle Effect teams are not about perfection, they are about connection.
To date, the Sparkle Effect has generated
over 135 inclusive teams from coast to coast, changing game night all across America!
